About Me

My name is Devin Tankersley (he/him), and I also go by my Chinese name 唐駿 (Táng Jùn) or 阿駿 (A-tsùn). My name sign is made by lightly pinching the upper right ear with thumb and forefinger (👂👌).

If you’d like to contact me, my email address is (no spaces) “devin [dot] tankersley [at] gmail [dot] com” or “dtankersley [at] unm [dot] edu”.

I’m not very active on social media, but you can follow me on Google Scholar and YouTube, where I occasionally post videos related to my work.

My Background

I grew up in Monrovia, California, and I graduated in Linguistics from University of California, Santa Cruz in 2011. Then I moved to Taiwan, where I started teaching English. I graduated from National Tsing Hua University with an MA in Linguistics in 2018, and soon after began teaching in the Applied English Department at Hung Kuo Delin University of Technology. In 2020, I moved back to the US to start a PhD in Linguistics at the University of New Mexico. I’m now back in Taiwan as a Fulbright Fellow, doing fieldwork on dialectal variation in Taiwan Sign Language.
